MSc Dissertation: System Identification and Fuzzy-PID vs PID Control of a 1-DOF Pitch-Axis Twin Rotor

Individual, simulation based: system identification and Fuzzy-PID vs PID control of a 1-DOF pitch-axis twin rotor.

The brief

Compare a fuzzy gain-scheduled PID controller with a conventional PID on the pitch axis of a 1-DOF twin rotor, entirely in simulation.

What I am doing

  • Building a nonlinear model of the pitch axis from published physical parameters.
  • Comparing a fuzzy gain-scheduled PID with a conventional PID through one shared simulation harness.
  • Tuning PID gains by ITAE minimisation.

This is my individual MSc dissertation, due February 2027. Results will be added when the work is complete.
